 The second phase of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization campaign was conducted across TN yesterday. The campaign also covered around 30,000 Sri Lankan refugee children in the state. The first phase was conducted on January 10. A total of over 70 lakh children were covered under the campaign, according to a press release from state Health Minister M R K Panneerselvam. In Chennai alone around five lakh children were administered polio drops. The Public Health department under the Health and Family Welfare had made adequate arrangements in co-ordination with other departments for conducting the second phase of the campaign. – Agencies. M.
