As a precautionary measure of any security threat during VIP visits at one of the well maintained and high profile memorial, The Rajiv Gandhi Memorial at Sri Perumbudur,      The Central Industrial Security Force has been roped in to do the cover the high profile zone. A contingent of 25 armed personnel took up position at the memorial on Tuesday.

A state intelligence source said the move follows a threat perceived by a Central agency that sympathisers or activists of the LTTE may target the memorial during VVIP visits.
